Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus, a.k.a. The Minimalists, designed the 30 day Minimalism Challenge as a fun game to help people declutter their houses.
The game is highly publicised and proven successful. As such, this April, I decided to accept the “30 Day #minsgame Challenge”. The idea behind the challenge is to get rid of the excess in your home – downsize, declutter, and only keep whatever that sparks joy.
The rules of the game are simple: on day one, you get rid of one item, day two, two items and so on,.. all the way to day thirty, thirty items. You can sell the items, trash them, donate them to charity or give them to someone who would love them or even recycle them. Whatever you do to the items, it must be out of your house by the end of the day. In total, if you complete the challenge, you’ll have successfully get rid of 465 things. Phew! That’s really an achievement & well done!
